A Letter from Principal Amy Hammock
Principal’s Message: 2025–2026 School Year
Amy Hammock, Principal
McIntosh High School
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time, thank you for choosing Fayette County Public Schools and McIntosh High School. Belonging to McIntosh means being part of a dynamic and caring school that values meaningful connections, high expectations, and opportunities for growth.
I am honored to serve as your principal and excited to continue this journey alongside such a dedicated and supportive community of students, staff, and families.
McIntosh High School is known for its rich traditions, thriving academic programs, vibrant fine arts, and competitive athletic teams. It is also known for something even more powerful—its people. As a member of this school community for the past ten years and now in my second year as principal, I have seen firsthand the passion our students have for learning and leadership, the commitment our teachers bring to their craft, and the partnership our families offer to support student success.
This year’s theme—Collaborative and Committed: Excellence Runs Deep—reflects our belief that excellence is not an accident. It is built through strong relationships, shared purpose, and consistent teamwork. We are opportunity builders, and we are ready to begin.
At McIntosh, our faculty is committed to supporting each student and equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to grow, achieve, and belong. My goals for the 2025–2026 school year remain focused on strengthening the core of what makes our school successful:
Communication – Fostering open, honest, and consistent dialogue with students, families, and staff
Curriculum – Elevating instruction through data-driven decisions, best practices, and collaborative professional learning
Culture – Celebrating student success, building strong school spirit, and ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all
I encourage every student to get involved. Whether through athletics, fine arts, service organizations, or academic teams, there are countless ways to connect and grow. For our families, I invite you to engage through booster clubs, school events, and volunteer opportunities. Click here to complete the 25-26 MHS Volunteer Interest Survey
Each Chief plays a vital role in making McIntosh a place where students thrive. I invite you to share your voice with me:
What do you love about being a Chief?
What do you want me to know about McIntosh High School?
I am thankful you are here and excited for the year of possibilities ahead. Through our shared commitment and collaboration, we will continue to build a strong foundation—a place where every Chief can reach their fullest potential.
Go CHIEFS!
